NO CUTS

As I raise awareness of the issues I present on this website, a significant concern is readers may conclude that housing authorities should get less money. Cutting funds is NOT the remedy. Funding cuts hurt the homeless. Rather, housing authorities have the fiduciary duty to use the limited amount of resources responsibly.

The reasons people are without shelter vary. Lack of affordable housing - HIGH RENTS -, poverty, unemployment, untreated mental illness or addiction, and domestic violence all contribute to homelessness.

From this resident's perspective, transparency and oversight is the remedy, NOT funding cuts.
